Code of Conduct

We demand, as a condition of doing business, our Business Partners adhere to our long standing policy which is based on internationally accepted standards. All factories we work with are required to undergo an audit and, at a minimum, demonstrate compliance with the requirements of our Code of Conduct, which covers:

1. Child Labor and Young Workers 

Smart Chain does not tolerate the use of child labor by its factories. ‘Child Labor’ is defined as the employment of persons younger than the local legal minimum working age. All business relationship will be terminated immediately upon detection of child labor. Business Partner shall fully comply with all national and local laws, rules and regulations upon the employment of Young Workers.

2. Wages and Benefits

Business Partner shall comply with applicable labor laws and provide wages and benefits at a rate equal to or greater of the minimum legal wage or the wage that meets prevailing local standards and shall pay employees overtime compensation in compliance with all applicable laws.

Business Partner shall comply with applicable labor laws governing working hours and encourage work no more than 60 hours per week, and employees should be provided with at least one day off in seven.

Business Partner shall not use prison, forced or other compulsory labor.

5. Discrimination

Business Partner shall not discriminate in hiring and employment practices, including salary, benefits, advancement, discipline, termination or retirement on the basis of race, religion, age, nationality, social or ethnic group, sexual orientation, gender, political opinion or disability.

6. Discipline

Business Partner shall treat each of their employees with respect and dignity. No employee is subject to any harassment of physical, sexual, mental and psychological. Corporal coercion is not allowed.

7. Freedom of Association

Business Partner shall respect the lawful exercise of employees’ right of free association and no restrict or interfere in.

8. Health and Safety

Business Partner shall comply with all applicable laws and regulations on providing safe, health and satiate working environment.

9. Bribery

Business Partner must not offer anything of value, including gifts, cash, red packet money, fruit baskets, and food, except water and tea to Smart Chain team members and its related business parties, including clients, 3rd party inspection and audit firms in an attempt to any business decision. Smart Chain holds itself to the same standard and will not solicit anything of value from Business Partner.

10. C-TPAT Security and Protect Assessment

Business Partner shall establish and implement C-TPAT procedure to eliminate trespassing and tampering.

11. Brand Protection

Smart Chain expects its business partner could assume together this responsibility.

12. Environment

Business Partner should comply with all applicable environmental laws and who work to minimize their impact on the surroundings and global resources.
