Higg Index
As a member of Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC), Smart Chain strives to pursue a focused sustainability strategy and reduce the environmental and social impacts of apparel products.
It has become essential for us to develop and measure our supply chain sustainability. We have used Facility Module self-assessment to evaluate factories.
Besides adoption of this industry standard for sustainability performance, we work closely with key supply chain stakeholders to encourage broader implementation of Higg Index and create more values for global supply chain and environmental sustainability.
Better Buying
Better Buying is a dialogue and rating platform that is being created to highlight areas for improved purchasing practices.
Smart Chain supports the notion that better purchasing practices can help to reduce child labor, employee retrenchment and other negative effects.
We have been actively cooperating with the platform to collect comments and suggestions from manufacturers. We also support manufacturers in Cambodia which are providing fairer pay to workers.
